Ando: Having been flooded with instagram posts of Chur Burger over the past few weeks, I had enough of constant drooling! I needed to visit! Afraid that it might be too busy on the weekends, The Lamstock decided to drop by during a weekday around 2pm. Parking wasn’t too hard to find and that goes the same for the store itself, which is located on the corner of Albion Street and Mary Street. It was still quite packed when we arrived but we managed to get a table.

The waiters were very welcoming, handed us some menus and advised us that orders were to be made at the counter. Constant chitchat filled the air and the music in the background wasn’t too loud. I found myself frequently glancing over to the open kitchen located at the back of the store, hoping that the next burger to come out was ours.

Chips, chilli salt ($5). The chips tasted nice but the chilli salt was very subtle.

Sweet potato fries, garlic, lime ($5). Tasty but the garlic and lime was also very subtle.

Chur Burger 2

Grilled beef, cheese, tomato jam, mustard mayo, pickle burger ($10). The portion was decent and the burger oozed of succulent meat juice. Delicious and simple! Highly enjoyable!

Chur Burger 3

Pulled pork, Chur bbq sauce, red slaw, fennel mayo burger ($10). The pork was tender and the slaw gave it some crunch. Combine it with creamy fennel mayo and you’ve got yourself one tasty burger.

Chur Burger 4

Marinated grilled chicken, hot sauce mayo, minted slaw burger ($10). The charcoal flavour from the chicken stood out but I was slightly disappointed with the low intensity of the hot sauce mayo.

Chur Burger 5

Grilled lamb, mint sauce, feta, red onion, aioli burger ($10). This was my favourite burger out of the four. The lamb patty was juicy and the thick feta provided a creamy tang.

We left quite satisfied with the burgers we had. When we left the store, chef Warren Turnbull was outside working on what looked like some important business. I wanted to take a photo with him but I left him to his task.
