B: Ladurée Sydney is finally open! Now we have to find another reason to visit France. This patisserie is known for making the best macarons in the world and why wouldn’t they be? Ladurée invented the macaron. Located on the third level of Sydney Westfield, it’s not hard to find especially with a huge line that wraps around the store. Apparently these little delicacies are made in Switzerland and imported here, no wonder they cost $3.20 each.
It’s not a very big store, but very beautiful with hedges that surround the tiny seating area and beautiful marble cabinets. They also sell other sweets, candles, fragrances, bags and do catering gifts for weddings and/or other events. But everyone was here for only one thing, macarons.
This afternoon we waited 45 minutes just a bit after 12. I can already imagine how busy it would get in the coming weekends. 45 minutes for imported authentic macarons? Totally worth the wait! There are 18 flavoured macarons, however not all flavours are in Australia yet.
These macarons are very beautiful, vibrant and exquisite. All the flavours have their own distinct scent and just melts in your mouth.

Will definitely be heading to Laduree when I’m in Sydney next, the queues were far too long when we were in Paris and I cannot wait to try the salted caramel macarons
I’m so jealous you went to Paris! Good choice with the salted caramel macarons
– B
Salted caramel wasn’t available
I did however try the raspberry, vanilla, coffee and pistachio macarons and they were delicious!
Oh no! I see that the salted caramel is high in demand. At least you got to try some other flavours
I haven’t been back to Laduree for a while now. I have to make sure I head there soon to try other flavours. Can’t wait to travel to Paris and try the macarons there

It was disappointing, but I guess they are limited to what they can import from Switzerland – salted caramel wasn’t even on the menu. Highly recommend Paris, you can tell me about the macarons when you go

Queues mostly no more than 2 or 3 people now whenever I go (outside of the 12-2 lunchtime rush).
B: Hi lignumdraco I have also noticed that the lines have significantly shorten. The first few weeks after opening, the lines were quite insane.
