Belle: On Tuesday morning B and I headed out to the Inner West to get a few errands done and decided to stop for brunch along the way. We decided to stop by at Double Roasters in Marrickville because it was on our to-do list and it was conveniently located between St Peters and Newtown.

Double Roasters is one of the emerging warehouse cafes in Sydney and boasts a high ceiling, which adds to the ambience of the space. The interior is a mix of recycled items and nick knacks here and there. Every table in the cafe has a vase with a single fresh tulip which adds a nice touch. The cafe also extends outdoors in an unused driveway. B and I opted for the indoor seating.

They roast their coffee beans in store daily  and regularly change the beans to mix used to mix things up. They also update the bean of the week on their Facebook page.

We started with two Soy Lattes ($3.50 + $0.50 for Soy). I loved the mild and mellow taste of the coffee and it isn’t too strong in taste. It was light and perfect for a day of getting errands done.

The one page menu is nice and simple, which makes it perfect for an indecisive person like myself. One common trait of my indecisiveness is checking into Foursquare to see the tips and what the users are recommending. Ninety percent of the tips recommended the Roast Pork Belly Sandwich with apple & mint relish, rocket and aioli on toasted sourdough ($9.50). So without any hesitation I made up my choice right away. And wow it was definitely worth the try.

The other item that B and I was drooling over was the Sauted Field Mushrooms on sourdough topped with pecorino ($8.00). For us anything containing mushroom was a winner. And this dish did not disappoint. It was well priced and the serving of mushrooms was very generous.

We left the cafe being very satisfied with our meal and will definitely return when we are in the area. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was casual and relaxed, the food came out quickly and everything was value for money.
