Ando: Ewok and I stumbled upon this place by accident when we found out the restaurant we wanted to visit was undergoing renovation. Since then, this is my go to Jap place for moderate priced meals and that would often leave me full (and sometimes in a food coma). Today I came with Belle and I wanted to snap a few shots of the outside, but it was filled with workers on their lunch and I didn’t want to ruffle any feathers. It’s a tiny place with seating for around 15 and during lunch and dinner time, many stand waiting outside as space is fairly limited. Another reason why I often choose this place is that they accept AMEX.
Edamame here cost only $2 and that’s a bargain compared to what many Japanese restaurant places price it at. Just your regular edamame beans and doesn’t leave a hole in your wallet.
This has got to be one of my favourite sushi dishes. Their Grilled Salmon Roll has got the right balance of flavour with flamed salmon on top of a king tempura prawn ($16). The sauce dressing is sweet yet subtle, the tempura prawn adds a crunch and the avocado gives it a creamy dimension. I highly recommend this dish!
I also ordered the Karage Bento ($13.50) with Teriyaki Chicken. You can also get this meal with Teriyaki fish, Teriyaki beef, Chicken Katsu, Pork Katsu, Teriyaki Salmon (+$3) or Teriyaki Seafood (+$3). Another reasonable priced dish!
Belle ordered the Pork Katsu Ramen ($11) and couldn’t finish her meal. I wanted to help her out but I was stuffed myself and am not a fan of noodle dishes.
